Join HORNE Healthcare Partner David Butler, CPA, FHFMA, as he moderates the CFO Panel - Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement Payment Initiative – What should you know before you’re forced in! at the HFMA Mid-South Institute 2017.

Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement is a panel discussion with 3 CFOs currently part of the mandatory CJR Episode-based payment initiative. The Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement model mandated on section 3021 of the Affordable Care Act aims to support better and more efficient care for beneficiaries undergoing the most common inpatient surgeries for Medicare beneficiaries; hip and knee replacements. Our panelist will discuss the extensive analysis and deep dive into cost and processes to ensure their facility was prepared for the new payment initiative.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will learn about the “big data” that is needed to determine costs.
  • Participants will learn how to better assess their capability of retrieving the data needed.
  • Participants will learn how to improve their ability to generate positive margins under the new payment initiatives.
